Materials, Stains & Care
All Adirondack pack baskets are made with rattan reed and solid pine skids and bases. The harnesses are sturdy cotton webbing with nickel plated steel hardware. These baskets are stained with a mix of MinWax stain and mineral spirits. Color choices for the harness and stain are listed with each basket description. Each basket has a sewn in handle that matches the harness.
All other basket designs are described independently. They are stained with a non-toxic weavers’ stain spray. Color choices are listed with each basket description.
To clean baskets, simply brush, vacuum, or wipe with a damp cloth. They can also be lightly rinsed except for any with the steam-bent oak dovetailed handle, which is glued and can pull apart. If any basket gets wet during use, empty it and let it dry thoroughly to prevent mildew spots. these spots can be blotted with a rag moistened with linseed oil or a dilution of Clorox and water.
